Orlando Shakespeare Theater is a professional regional theater dedicated to producing bold, accessible, and engaging performances for our community. We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Bar Manager to support bar operations during performances and special events.

Position Summary

The Bar Manager is responsible for overseeing front-of-house bar operations, with a strong focus on inventory management and point-of-sale accuracy. This role ensures the bar is fully stocked, inventory is accurately tracked, and sales are properly recorded using our Square system. This position reports directly to the Guest Experience and Operations Manager and the Assistant Patron Services Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage bar inventory, including regular inventory checks before and after performances

  • Update and maintain accurate stock levels in the Square POS system

  • Monitor product usage and report low stock or restocking needs

  • Assist in recruitment and termination decisions

  • Creating SOPs for Orlando Shakes productions, events, and rentals bar operations

  • Ensure bar setup, cleanliness, and organization meet theater standards

  • Oversee bar operations during performances and events

  • Follow all applicable alcohol service laws and safety procedures

  • Coordinate with theater management regarding inventory discrepancies or operational needs

  • Create specialty cocktails for each production

  • Bartending shifts are required

  • Other duties as assigned by management

Qualifications

  • Prior bar, hospitality, and inventory management experience (required)

  • Team leadership skills (required)

  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and performance schedules (required)

  • Experience using Square POS (or similar systems) strongly preferred

  • ServSafe Certified (preferred)

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

  • Ability to lift and move bar supplies, up to 50lbs

  • Reliable, punctual, and professional demeanor

Work Schedule

  • Part-time role, up to 30 hours per week.

  • Hours vary based on performance and event schedules


General Bar Operation/Performance Schedule:

Signature Series Performances:

  • Wednesday: 2:00 PM & 7:30 PM

  • Thursday–Saturday: 7:30 PM

  • Saturday Matinee: 2:00 PM

  • Sunday: 2:00 PM

Concert Series Performances:

  • Saturday: 8:00 PM

  • Sunday: 3:00 PM

Children’s Series

  • Alternating Saturdays/Sundays - 10:30am & 1:30pm

Compensation

  • $17.00 per hour plus tips
